I didn't know how much fun you could have in Los Angeles for
free! Years ago, I went to the
Ice House in Pasadena,
regularly, to experience live comedy. You had to buy dinner to see
the show. It turned into a hundred dollar adventure real fast!
Nowadays, parking in Hollywood to go to the Comedy Store is $15.00 or
more, then another $15.00 to get in! Still a great night out! But, being
older, wiser and a bit more frugal, I now quench my comedic hankering for
free! Free comedy los angeles abounds! Some of the best kept secrets in
the Los Angeles comedy business are open mikes. Open mikes offer the
greatest variety in comedy for free! At any given open mike you'll find
comedians old and new.
Experienced comedians hone their acts, try new material and stretch
their comedic legs. New comics are fun to watch. Their fresh viewpoints
are dynamic. I've heard lots! Check them out!

comedy club. Shows are on seven nights a week and there is a cover charge
except most week nights if you arrive before 9:00 PM.

I heard that Andrew Dice Clay rocked the house last month! Ha Ha Cafe
Comedy Club Owner Jack Assadourian is a nice man. He and his son are there
greeting guests and making all feel welcome. The full bar is well stocked
and prices are reasonable. Try hanging at the bar and eavesdropping on the
comics stories.
